Interested in becoming an Extension Master Gardener Volunteer?

Every other year the NC Cooperative Extension Service- Durham County Center trains individuals interested in volunteering for the Durham County Consumer Horticulture Agent. The training is an intensive 13 week (40 hour training). Following the training, individuals are expected to volunteer 40 hours in order to become certified Extension Master Gardeners and attend 4 additional continuing education trainings plus go to Master Gardener meetings. Extension Master Gardeners assist their local agent in helping to provide educational outreach programming and support in areas of Horticulture and Natural Resource Management.
